• ALL THE SWEARING GOTTA STOP!!

  I sumtimes wonder..

  y do Christians swear?

  y do we need to vent our displeasure in dat way?

  y do we need to show others : SO WHAT?

  i can say that too..TOOT..

  
  

  How come?

   

  I just had a convo with a Christian friend..

  A Christian youth leader actually..

  A good Christian leader..

  one who I have come to respect a lot over the years..

  I believe that person is a good Christian..

  A faithful believer of the Word..

   

  I do not doubt that this person has great faith in Lord Jesus Christ..

  I do not doubt that this person is a good person..

  But this friend of mine said a bad word..

  TOOT..

  I cringe..

  SERIOUSLY,
  

  I cringe when I hear bad words now..

  Itz a phobia now..

   

  I really do hate hearing ppl swear..

  Honestly..

   

  And this friend of my mine

  Ok, I’ll reveal her sex..oops..gave that away..

   

  Thatz all, no names k?

  Haha..

  She was venting on assignments and the F-bomb came out..

  and so i said

  no SWEARING around me..

  seriously,

  in my sch,

  my frnz are careful to swear around me..

  i make it clear..

  People CUSSING in front of me..

  
  

  and sometimes they forget..

  and i give them a "reminder"..

  "PAP"..hehe

  
  

  So i just casually told her off..

  and she was quite unhappy(i perceive)..

  she told me not to bring up religious talk and

  told me to accept the reality that i cant go

  around telling ppl wad to say and wad not to say..

  
  

  My exact words were these:

  Paul said, do not be conformed to the world.

  
  

  Friends,

  we as Christians shud never conform to the world..

  in one way or another, we have conformed to the world..

  i admit, my eating habits are not heavenly..=)

  but the thing is..

  
  

  there is no need to b offended..

  and there is no need for swearing..

  
  

  u may say

  oh, this is who i am

  so "toot" yeah, u can kiss my "toot" and

  go rant ur "toot" elsewhere..

  
  

  frm a non-Christian, i will (sadly and grievously) accept it..

  But from a Christian,

  im sorry to say, i cant accept this..

  
  

  i distinctly rmb Jesus said

  be in the world, but not of the world..

  
  

  yes, my dear friend,

  i realise that i cant make the world revolve around me..

  but when the whole world around me is swearing..

  i do not revolve around the world..

  do u understand?

  
  

  im not being sarcastic..

  im saying this from a believers view..

  a friends view..

  im not correcting u out of spite..

  im correcting u out of love..

  i feel so discouraged..

  y do Christians swear?

  is it cool?

  dun tell me itz who u r..

  the world sees us by our actions..

  no non-christian will not care who u r..

  d world goes round too fast..

  they are too indulged in their own lives..
  

  they see ur outwardness..

  and when Christians get too indulged in our life..

  there is a hokkien phrase..

  so if our outwardness is contradicting the Word,

  den wad is our testimony?

  
  

  i m being convicted by writing this as well..

  im not more holy den anyone..

  i think i've been in deeper sin den my non-Christians b4..

  but i know Christ has forgiven me..

  i respect u..

  i alwayz have..

  and im saying this out of kindness..

  hope u understand the intention of my heart..

  im not saying im a greater christian den u..

  but i just want u to knw..

  that i feel dat swearing less

  is defintely a better testimony..

  as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says..

  If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation

  Behold, the old has pass away and the new has come..
